Constituency Profile
Katima Rural is one of the eight constituencies in the Zambezi Region with a population of 16 399 (as per the 2011 Census). The constituency has a size area of 1,935 KM2 and is the fourth largest constituency in the region. The constituency has a population density of 8.5 per kilometre square. Approximately 10 per cent of the constituency is prone to flooding every year.
The constituency borders four (4) other constituencies namely: Katima Urban to the West, Sibbinda to the South West, Kabbe North and South to the North East and it borders with Botswana to the South. The Bukalo Village Council and Munitenge Royal Establishment are located at Bukalo being the seat administration of the Constituency, with Mafuta and Ngoma as growth points.
Health Facilities:There is one (1) Health Centre and Three (3) Clinic within the Constituency namely: Bukalo Health Centre, Ngoma Clinic, Muyako Clinic and Ibbu Clinic.
Education facilities There are Nineteen (19) Primary Schools, Twelve (12) Combined Schools, two (2) Secondary Schools and One (1) Technical School and one (1) Community Library.
